My favorite part of the wedding is helping to set and decorate the tables for the guests. A big part of that is the centerpiece for the tables. There are so many wonderful and fun options out there. Some go over the top and some keep it simple. Some love flowers, some greenery, some candles, and some go other ways. Its a fun way for a couple to express their interests or tie the overall style of the wedding together. Today I want to dedicate this post to some of my favorite ones that my couple's have done through the years. I am going to break this into two different blog posts, rectangle tables and round ones. I am doing this because I feel when it comes to decorating a table the two vary greatly in the style and how you style the table. Plus it gives me a chance to share more inspiration pictures. This could also be a table setting title as well. Many of these the look is completed by the couple's choice of things like chairs, tableware, and napkins.
First on my list is this amazing flower runner created by The Details Matter Florist for Taylor and Jeff's wedding in 2015. The first picture below is of the head table for the bridal party and I was blown away when I saw this huge runner of full, lush whit and pink flowers. The second picture below was of the guest tables. Equally as impressive with a combination lantern and wooden flower box with the same flowers as the head table. Pictures from Sanderson Images.
Next up, was a display created by Daniel Vaughn Designs for Kim's 2019 wedding. Kim's wedding was located at General Potter farm, but she definitely wanted something more sophisticated. Her style made me think upscale French Country. The wooden tables and cross-back chairs were the perfect foundation for her bud vases and floating candles. Plus I loved the colors of the flowers.She had rounds and longs combined, so only showing the long tables here. May see the rounds on the next post. Photo by Ali & Paul Co.
Another person who combined long tables and rounds was Stevie. Both impressive flower creations from Woodrings Florals. The two picture below from Nick Finchio show a distance shot and an up close image. We took a glitter gold table runner and topped it with long garlands of greenery. Then added in some pops of flowers, tall candlesticks, and a few small gold mercury votive candles as well. The upgrade to gold silverware helped complete the rustic glam look this bride wanted.
If anyone ever says they want a vintage style wedding, I immediately show them pictures from Kacy's (and that is a different Kacy not the same one who stared the business with me). She nailed this style and her tables were amazing. No two were exactly alike, but all were similar. All had a pink runner with a lace overlay. Then various things from milk vases, mason jars, and even silver tea pots were filled with flowers and ran the length of the table. Not to mention the awesome door knob table numbers. In 2014 burlap was quite popular especially in barn or country settings. I enjoyed how Amanda used it as a runner and as accents around tall cylinders holding candles. The long tables pushed together under the setting of the twinkle lights and warm candles was a perfect and welcoming feel for a November wedding. She had the greenery garland but it was more subtle and not overflowing. My two favorite features on this setting were one the mini champagne bottles for guest favors, and the little copper bottles filled with bright pink and purple flowers. That pop of color really completed the look.
Jessie and Ezra's wedding is my go to for those looking for the boho style. Jessie chose to decorate her long tables took brown kraft paper runners. She actually wrote the table number on them. She topped the runner with some seeded eucalyptus greenery, candles and a mix of vintage clear and green small vases. Wine bottles were placed for guests to self serve during dinner. Finally, the bride hand dyed napkins and designed custom menu cards. Pictures below of this from Charlie Juliet.
Abby was originally thinking a garland runner for her long tables. However she changed her mind and instead went with three bold and colorful centerpieces with some candles mixed in. No garland helped to showcase the navy and white striped table runner more. It paired well with her pink napkins, gold silverware, and square plates. I love tree's. I know that is an odd statement but when they are used in part decor, even as branches; it makes me smile. Paige used cherry blossom branches for her spring wedding in tall vases with flowers mixed in, and candles hanging from the branches. For the table her glam side with some sparkle pieces, gold elements. The tableware was vintage style with gold silveware, mix match plates, and a combination of clear and amber water goblets. If you are more DIY and want something simple, I think of this at home fall wedding. Christina took a wood board as a runner. To decorate it, she and her groom the cut the bottoms off of clear wine bottles to put a candle underneath. Then they bought colored mason jars and small vases that they filled with flowers they bought in bulk from Mowrer's Flowers. All of it was simple, inexpensive, and perfect for their backyard wedding.
This one below of Amanda's stuck out to me because it felt bold. The plants they used for the greenery was more unique. It had more of a rugged outdoors feel. The flowers, thistle, and berries tucked into the greenery added some interesting textures. To elevate it she added gold painted wine bottles, lace runner, gold mercury votive candles, gold charges, maroon napkins, and menu card really made a memorable statement.
Finally, I am sharing several images these two of two tables I put together of a fall styled shoot I did at Mt. Nittany Overlook. The florist Erin Carely Florals worked with me when I said I wanted bold fall colors; and also to incorporate fall fruits (especially apples) into the design. I found these wooden boxes to give it a little bit of a country/rustic feel like the venue wanted in the shoot. Erin filled them with some of the most beautiful dahlia's and various blooms I have ever seen. I also incorporated some mix and match glass pieces in fall colors with candles.
