Cristin & Brandon's Wedding

There is something special and fun about an at home wedding. Its a chance to get to know a couple on a little bit more of an intimate level. Cristin, who lives in Ohio, contacted me for a wedding she planned to have in a property her parents purchased in the Jersey Shore area (that is the city Jersey Shore in Pennsylvania, nothing you would see on a beach). She explained the grounds had a barn but no house yet, as her parents planned to build one at a later time. She said it was on top of a hill, tucked away at the end of the road. It was surrounded by trees with open areas and a pond. It sounded lovely but the descriptions still didn't prepare me for how beautiful it was in person.

Pulling up the first thing I saw was this beautiful lamp post. I immediately thought I had been transported to Narnia and the rest of the grounds were just as enchanting. The barn with its stonework reminded me of a charming cottage in the countryside. The pond was a brilliant shade of blue with a fountain running water in the center. I wanted to curl up on the bench nearby with a book. My favorite was the gazebo area that reminded me of the ones I have seen in a garden painting. The day of the wedding, several guests commented that they felt like they stepped out of Pennsylvania and into a fairy tale. Below are a couple photos I snagged of the lamp post and pond, that don't do it any justice.

The day of the wedding, like most this past summer, was a question mark with the weather. Hurricane Harvey had recently battered the south and we were getting the remnants. Usually when planning an outdoor wedding on Labor Day weekend, we are concerned about the heat. That was not the case, as the temperature was unseasonably cool. The ladies got ready at The Pajama Factory in Willamsport. I have never been there, but the pictures from Brittany Lee Photo showing a stunning space to get ready. This venue is one I need to check out in detail someday!

Luckily the showers stopped for the outdoor ceremony, but before that the couple had their first look moment. They chose a nearby one lane bridge.

When the ceremony began, some guests seemed a little confused to see bridesmaids but no groomsmen up front. That is because they pulled the bride out in this awesome vintage carriage rented from GHR Rental Boutique.

Let's talk about the stunning flowers for a moment. The Details Matter did a fabulous job decorating the gazebo. Not to mention the stunning bouquets!
